Tension high near Moi Girls as police demolish kiosks

Chaos erupted after the authorities attempted to demolish kiosks around Moi Girls Secondary School perimeter wall located in the area.

Traders are protesting the demolition.

This comes after last Saturday’s incident where a 15-year-old female student in Form 2 was assaulted and raped while going to the washrooms at around 2am.

All male teaching and non-teaching staff living within Moi Girls have been ordered to undergo DNA testing.

Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed, who announced the closure of the school, said the government will conduct a security assessment at the institution, adding that they will use the incident to formulate a security policy for schools countrywide.

Investigations into the incident are currently underway.
