Tension in Eldoret as boda boda riders protest killing of their sacco chairman
Tension was for the better part of Saturday morning witnessed in Eldoret town as boda boda riders engaged the police in running battles after their sacco chairman was found murdered at his home in Illula, Uasin Gishu County.
Confirming the incident, Turkadero Boda Boda Sacco Deputy Chairman Abraham Shikhanga demanded for justice to be served over the killing of Ibrahim Murgor adding that their lives – as boda boda riders – could now also in danger.
Murgor is said to have been in the forefront of championing for the rights and welfare of boda boda operators in Uasin Gishu County.
His body has since been taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital as investigations leading to the cause of his death are launched by police.
