Terror suspect arrested in Bungoma

Anti-terror police officers and Bungoma CID detectives have arrested a 20-year-old suspected terrorist.

Ishmael Wafula Nyongesa was nabbed at a Bungoma bus terminal en route to Bukembe area in Kanduyi, where he works as an Imam.

According to Busia OCPD Mr.Benard Kioko, CDs containing radicalized teachings were recovered from the suspect when officers conducted a search of his residence.

The officers also said that Nyongesa had been missing for three weeks, adding that they suspected he was hiding in Uganda.

Busia OCPD Benard Kiok Nyongesa says the man was an imam in Nairobi, but he relocated to Bungoma during the month of Ramadhan.

He is currently being held at Busia police station as officers conclude investigations into the matter.
