Terror suspect, Ismael Shosi, buried in Mombasa

Terror suspect, Mohammed Ismael Shosi, who was gunned down by Anti Terror on Tuesday, September 27 was on Wednesday laid to rest at Kikowani Muslim Cemetery at Bondeni area of Mombasa.
The body of 27-year-old was released for burial to relatives after police conducted an autopsy at the Coast Provincial General Hospital.
Friends, relatives and residents converged at Masjid Nuru Mosque in Bondeni for prayer before he was buried according to Muslim beliefs.
His father, Mohammed Shosi Malua, said he was not aware if  his son was involved in terrorism activities as alleged by the government.
The mother of the deceased, Nadiya Ahmed Mohammed, told journalists at her Majengo home that Shosi was not a terror suspect as painted by police, adding that he was innocent and was being targeted for no reason.
The first son of  Nadiya was shot dead two years ago at Bondeni area for allegedly engaging in terror activities in Coast region.
Coast Regional Coordinator, Nelson Marwa, on Tuesday told journalists that Shosi was a wanted man who was allegedly involved in a series of terror activities, including killing of police officers and recruiting youth to the Al Shabaab terror group.
