The Cashless Matatu

Passengers can now pay for their matatu fares using a pre-paid commuter card. The facility was unveiled today  ahead of the governments-stipulated 1st July, 2014 deadline requiring all psvs adopt a cashless fare payment system … the pay card enables fares to be remitted to the matatu owners directly while vehilces will be installed with security camera’s to monitor passenger’s in a bid to stem violence and thefts.
