The collapse cotton farming in the country is frustrating the government ambitions to promote locally made clothes. Whereas President Kenyatta has directed that up to 40 per cent of garments made for export be sold locally, the scarcity of raw material could render the garments uncompetitive against second-hand clothes as Patrick Igunza reports.
