The Late Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru laid to rest

The late Nyeri Governor Dr Wahome Gakuru was today, Saturday 18th laid to rest at his Kirichu home in Nyeri Town Constituency.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are among leaders who attended the burial ceremony at Kagumo High School grounds.

Dr. Gakuru perished in a grisly road accident that occurred on Tuesday morning in Kabati on the Thika-Kenol highway.

The governor’s vehicle is reported to have lost control as the driver avoided hitting a boda boda rider who was transporting meat.

The Mercedez Benz tore through the rail guard on the road inflicting fatal injuries on the county boss and his personal assistant and bodyguard who were admitted in hospital with serious injuries.
