The Rhino Squad
In the 20th century there were over half a million rhinos roaming in the African wilderness, Currently only 25,460 black and white rhinos remain in the African wilderness, 1,100 of these are in Kenya.
Two women are at the forefront of the bid to increase and protect the remaining of this species that is at the brink of extinction.
They have joined 57 male rangers who specialize in rhino protection, a rhino squad that is also targeted by poachers.
Judy Kosgei went on patrol with the heroines of Kenya’s anti poaching war and filed this special report.
