Thieves break into police station in Kibos, three guns and ammunition missing

Officers are investigating a break-in at Kibos Police Post, Muhoroni where three guns and several rounds of ammunition were stolen on Saturday night.

Nyanza police boss Vincent Makhoha confirmed the incident.

According to a police report seen by Radio Ramogi, the suspects broke into the station’s armoury at 11.30pm.

An officer who was on duty had apparently gone to his house and when he returned, he found the armoury broken into and the steel door wide open.

According to the police report, thee guns including a G3 rifle; an Mp5 rifle and an L1A1 rifle were stolen.

During the raid, the thugs also made away with two G3 magazines, two MP5 magazines and another 155 rounds of ammunition.

Police reinforcement was called from Miwani Police Station to help comb the nearby sugarcane plantation.

The operation was however hampered by heavy downpour in the area.
