Thika court closed after 3 staff members test positive for COVID-19

Thika Environment and Land Court (ELC) has been closed for 14 days after three staff members tested positive for COVID-19 within a span of 24 hours.

Acting Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu, in a statement to newsrooms on Sunday, said the court has a total of 10 staff members, all of whom have since been identified and directed to go into self-quarantine with immediate effect.

“All urgent matters for Thika ELC Court shall be directed to Murang’a ELC Court,” said the Acting CJ.

“We wish the affected staff members quickest recovery. We shall resume normal service delivery as soon as circumstances allow. An update will, in any event, be given as soon as that becomes possible.”
