Thika teachers threaten to down their tools next term

Over 200 teachers from the formet Thika municipality have threatened to down their tools over what they termed as unfair distribution of house allowances by their employer, TSC.

Led by KNUT Executive Secretary Thika Joe Mungai Ngige, the teachers have been missing their allowances for over a year now.

KNUT Thika branch chairman John Kuria and treasurer Julius Chege called for equalization of allowances for all teachers within the municipality.

They said there is a discrepancy in the amount of money paid to teachers within the municipality, even though they live on the same location.

The teachers have now threatened to boycott exams invigilation and marking of their issue is not addressed. They also said they will down their tools come third term if TSC does not tackle the discrepancy.
