Thirteen aliens arrested in Kwale

Police in Kwale County have arrested 13 aliens of Ethiopian origin for being in the country illegally and without valid documentation.

The aliens were sneaking in to the country from the neighbouring Tanzania.

A derelict run-down vessel that stands isolated in the middle of the Indian Ocean is commonly used by aliens as they illegally sneak into the country.

According to police, the aliens were unlawfully in the country since they could not explain what their mission was.

According to Msambweni OCPD Joseph Omijah, police arrested the aliens acting on a tip-off from members of the public.

“We received information from members of the public about some strangers within Majoreni area and whose mission was not clear. Police led by border patrol team rushed to scene and arrested the 13 Ethiopians,” said the OCPD.

The suspects are being detained at the Shimoni Police Station.

Omijah said they will be charged with being in the country illegally and trying to leave via unauthorized route.
