Three arrested, 2,000 liters of illicit brew confiscated

Three people were arrested and over 2,000 liters of illicit brew confiscated in Kitino area of Tharaka Nithi County in a raid conducted by security agents Friday.

According to the D.O. Dennis Menace Oganga, the team arrested three people identified as Orsola Ikamba, Abed Mbina and Tabitha Kaburi while brew a local liquor known as ‘Mugacha’.

The three were taken to Maritimanti police station before being arraigned in MarimantiLaw Courts and charged with preparation and selling of illicit brew.

Oganga has vowed not to relent in the fight against illicit brew and urged those involved in the business to look for alternative businesses since their days are numbered.

“This war will not end here. I am going to wage more wars against this illicit brew business,” said Oganga.

He further thanked residents for cooperating with the police and administrators in the fight against illicit brew.
