Three arrested, kidnap victim rescued after 14 days in Meru
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested three suspected kidnappers and rescued the victim after 14 days of abduction.
The three – Patrick Kimathi, Joseph Karithi, Daniel Muroki – were holding the victim in a thicket near Njuri Ncheke forest in Mpinda village, Meru County.
The trio, who had demanded a ransom of Ksh.150,000, are presently in lawful custody as items that were recovered from the scene are kept as exhibits.
The victim was reported missing at Kangeta Police Station on June 19, 2020 upon which an intelligence-led operation by the DCI in conjunction with the police was mounted.
