Three charged with conspiracy to defraud NHIF Ksh.172,000
Three people were on Wednesday arraigned in a Migori court and charged with conspiracy to defraud the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) Ksh.172,000.
The three; John Mwita Nono, the proprietor of Gentontira medical center in Isebania town, Raymond Kyalo and Quenter Esther Atieno, were charged with conspiracy to defraud NHIF by submitting fake medical claims for 28 patients worth Ksh.172,000 in October 2020.
The health centre proprietor was also charged with an attempt to obtain money amounting to Ksh,172,000 through false pretense.
They denied the charges before Resident Magistrate Hellen Maritim and were released on a bond of Ksh.100,000 each or an alternative cash bail of Ksh.50,000 each.
The case is slated for hearing on January 20, 2021.
