Three chiefs sacked for working and drinking with illicit liquor brewers

The Kirinyaga County Government has sacked three assistant chiefs accused of working and drinking with brewers.

The three administrators are Ndui-ini, Thaita, and Kianjege area assistant chiefs.

Speaking after destroying several litres of illicit brew and setting on fire gambling machines at Mukinduri Trading Centre in Kirinyaga Central, region Commissioner Wilson Njenga accused the three of working with illicit brewers.

Njenga said the war against illegal gambling and illicit brews across the Central region will continue in a bid to keep school going children safe.

According to the police boss, 17 chiefs and their assistant have already been sacked in the Central region during the crackdown on all outlets selling illicit liquor.

Njenga also ordered chiefs and their assistant to work with the police while on operation to avoid being attacked by the brewers.
