Three cops summoned by court over alleged fresh disappearances
Three police officers linked by the Law Society of Kenya to the disappearance of two men have been directed to appear before High Court Judge Joseph Onguto next week Tuesday.
This is after the lawyers’ body moved to the court Thursday under a certificate of urgency seeking orders to have the state produce Brain Nzenze – a boda boda rider and Ericsson Aluda Mambo – his passenger.
LSK argues that Brian Nzeze and Aluda Mambo, reportedly went missing after being arrested at about 4pm in Kawagware, Nairobi by AP officers attached to the Kawangware Chiefs’ Camp.
They claim that the boda boda rider and his passenger were bundled into a police Land Rover, Reg. No. GKA875X and driven off to an unknown destination.
LSK believes the AP officers are holding them unlawfully.
The three police officers named in the petition are Simon Mbau Mureithi, Benson Simiyu alias Kichwa and Kennedy Njoroge alias Njoro.
The society wants the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet, Attorney General Githu Muigai and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko to disclose the circumstances under which the two disappeared.
