Three decomposing bodies retrieved from a Kiambu house

Three decomposing bodies were on Friday, June 2 found in a rental house in Muthure village, Kiambu County.

After visiting the scene, police identified the bodies as that of Grace Njeri Mwangi, 38, and her children Joy Wangari and Maxwell Wachira aged 12 and 5 years respectively.

All the bodies were found lying on the seats in the living room with serious head injuries suspected to have been caused by blunt objects.

According to neighbours, Njeri was last seen on May 25, 2017 when she was paying rent and were attracted by a foul smell and houseflies that necessitated them to break into the house and called the police immediately.

“We found Njeri lying on the seat,” one of the neighbours told journalist.

Area OCPD, Joseph Ongaya, said that they suspect the murder to have been planned by Njeri’s husband, erastus Kibage, whose whereabouts are unknown.

“We have recovered a metal bar with blood stains and a kitchen knife from the scene as evidence and the bodies were removed to Kikuyu PCEA Hospital morgue before a postmortem is conducted and as investigations go on,” Mr Ongaya said.
