Three family members killed after trailer rams into their house

Four people among them three family members died at Kwa Mungania after a truck veered off the road ramming into their house in Buuri, Meru County.

According to Buuri OCPD David Mwange, the driver of the ill-fated trailer that rammed into five other houses in the 7:00 am accident, was fatigued.

“The driver lost control of his vehicle along Subuiga-Isiolo road and crashed into six houses including that of the  the victims and sadly three family members died among them a child,” said Mr. Mwange.

Also present at the scene of the accident was Area MP Rindikiri Mugambi who said that the accident could have been prevented if the driver of the ill fated vehicle did not flout traffic rules which stipulate that there should be two drivers for long distance journeys.

While offering contacts to residents at the scene, Kenya Red Cross Society official Mercy Ondijo termed the incident as unfortunate and called on residents living along the road to contact her organization in the event of an accident.
