Three gangsters shot dead in Ruiru, goods worth millions stolen

Three gangsters were on Monday morning shot dead by police at a warehouse near Kamakis in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

An AK47 rifle was recovered from the robbers who were cornered after they had broken into the go-down located off the Eastern bypass.

Confirming the incident, Kiambu County Police Coordinator Adiel Njagi Nyange said the robbers gained access into the premises after cutting the electric fence mounted on the perimeter wall.

The gangsters are then said to have tied the night guards before breaking into the godown where they began carting away and packing cosmetic products belonging to the Nice and Lovely company into a waiting truck.

Through security cameras, the company CEO was alerted of intruders and immediately called the police who quickly responded.

Police found the robbers at the scene where a fierce gunfire exchange ensued before three of the gangsters were gunned down, one of them arrested while their accomplices in the truck drove off with goods worth millions.

The Kiambu police boss however assured that they were tracking the lorry as a manhunt for the gangsters who fled continues.

This not the first time the godown has been raided as three months ago, robbers broke into it and took away goods and three trucks which are yet to be recovered.
