Three people under probe over death of woman in Migori

Three people among them two women are being probed over the death of a woman aged 58 years whose body was Sunday morning found dumped along the road in Ragana area, Suna West, Migori County.

The village elder Simon Maucha said the body of the deceased identified as Leonida Orimba had some injuries on the body, an indication that she was murdered and body dumped by unknown attackers.

Mr. Maucha said their preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased was spotted at a nearby chang’aa den before her body was found dumped along the road. He added that they suspect the woman died at the chang’aa den and body was sneaked out of the home at night.

The incident was confirmed by the area chief Christopher Owuo who said that the matter is under police investigation.

One of the suspects narrated that the deceased went to his home late in the evening asking for chang’aa which she declined to give out because she was already drunk.

She claimed that they served her food and later escorted her out of the home so that she could find her own bearing to her home adding that she is not privy to what happened to her after she left home.
