Three students arrested for burning dormitory in Nyandarua
Three students from Magumu Boys’ High School are in police custody for allegedly burning a dormitory on Sunday evening.
The three were arrested on Sunday night and were still detained at Njabini Police Station in Kinangop, Nyandarua County on Monday as investigations into the incident continue.
Kinangop OCPD Charles Rotich said the three students were captured on CCTV footage torching the dormitory.
Property of unknown value belonging to 156 students was razed to the ground as efforts by students and local residents to contain the fire were fruitless.
The motive of the incident remains unclear.
Meanwhile, the affected students were forced to share accommodation with fellow students in other dormitories.
