Three suspected criminals killed in shootout with police

Three suspected criminals were on Sunday killed during a shootout with detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kamukunji, Nairobi.

The detectives, in collaboration with regular police officers, intercepted the suspects following tip-off from members of the public.

The officers challenged the suspects to surrender but they instead opened fire, prompting the officers to fire back.

Two pistols, a pen knife and four rounds of ammunition were recovered from the scene.

Police are presently in pursuit of one other suspect who reportedly escaped towards Muthurwa Estate.
