Three suspected gangsters killed after robbery aborts
Three suspected gangsters were shot dead in Nairobi’s Westlands area Friday morning. The three were killed after a botched robbery on a bank.
According to police, two other gangsters escaped. A pistol was recovered during the incident.
Elsewhere, police in Kericho are holding three suspected fraudsters who have conned innocent members of the public of their money through mobile money.
Kericho County Criminal Investigations Director Danson Diiru confirmed the incident saying the suspects were nabbed by police officers following a tip off from members of the public.
He said the suspects had already conned some of the members over 50,000 shillings and were positively identified by the victims.
Diiru revealed that the suspects were pretending to be agents of some of the leading mobile network providers and in the process they could convenience their victims to reveal the details of their mobile banking system which they later used to defraud their money both in banks and the mobile phone banking.
The CID boss said the suspects will be arraigned in court and charged with the offense of obtaining money by false pretense among other charges.
