Police in Kakamega County have arrested three suspects accused of masquerading as officials of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

The three were arrested as they were leaving Igotse Primary School where they had allegedly tried to convince a number of teachers that they would secure them job promotions.

 

“Today I received visitors I do not know. They identified themselves as officials from TSC Headquarters in Nairobi saying that they wanted to help teaches in my school get promotions in their various grades,” said Geofrey Tamba, the head teacher of Igotse Primary School.

“One of their conditions for helping the teachers was a sum of money.”

According to one of the teachers, they alerted police after suspecting that the three were fraudsters, leading to their arrest before they could free.

It it reported that this is not the first school where the suspects have tried to con teachers.
