Three suspects linked to Kakamega killings arrested

Three suspects connected to the brutal murder of six security guards in Kakamega are in police custody.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the trio were arrested in Mukuru kwa Reuben slum in Nairobi.

“A detailed analysis on western murders & robberies led Detectives to Mukuru kwa Reuben where 28yr-old Fanuel Andayi was arrested and a phone stolen on the night the watchmen were murdered, was recovered and it led sleuths to Butere where 28yr-old Aziz Amwayi was also nabbed,” the DCI said on Twitter on Tuesday.

The watchmen were hacked to death on March 3.

Aziz had been arrested earlier on in connection to another murder case in Khwisero which occurred on March 21 but was later released on bond.

Police conducted a search at his house and also discovered mobile phones and laptops.

Caleb Nanjira, 26, was also arrested in connection with the stolen phones.

Detectives suspect that he was at the crime scene on the night of the murder.
