Three suspects lynched by boda boda riders in Migori

Three suspects were on Monday lynched by boda boda riders in Migori for allegedly stealing a motorbike after killing the rider.

According to Migori County Police Commander Joseph Nthenge, Thomas Marwa, Marwa Rioba and Samwel Nyaribo were attacked and killed by the mob that has been trailing them for the past one week.

“The boda boda riders gathered at night and went to attack them [the suspects] in their houses. They got them out of their houses, beat them to death and dumped their bodies at the main road, under allegations that they stole a motorbike,” said Nthenge.

The county police boss said the bodies of the suspects were moved to Migori Level Four Hospital Mortuary pending police investigations.

He called upon members of the public to stop subjecting suspects to mob justice and instead report them to the police.

“I want to let the boda boda riders know that the law exists, and the law is in charge of punishing lawbreakers,” he said.
