Timamy Blames Lamu Killings On Al Shabab

Speaking a day after being acquitted of incitement charges, Timamy said he was innocent and that the attacks were not politically instigated

More than 100 people died in the separate attacks in Lamu County

Timamy insisted that contrary to claims, the attacks were not organized by local leaders

The governor was yesterday acquited of the charges by a Mombasa Court yesterday.

Timamy was speaking this morning during Citizen TV’s Power Breakfast show in Mombasa.

"The fact that the state was unable to produce evidence linking me with the deadly attacks showed that local leaders were not involved" said Timamy

The governor now wants the national government to lift the night curfew in Lamu County to enable residents resume their normal life.
