It is time to return the favour, Wetangula tells Raila

Ford Kenya party leader and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has asked CORD leader Raila Odinga to support his presidential bid in the 2017 General Election.

Senator Wetangula argued that while they are all open to agreeing on one candidate to fly the coalition flag, he is the most suitable to defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the next elections.

The CORD co-principal stated that he had supported Raila in his past two presidential bids, noting that it was time for the ODM leader to return the favour.

He encouraged the coalition to stay united in order to be able to win the next elections.

Despite Kuria being considered an ODM zone, the voting pattern of the region has been unpredictable – a trend that has encouraged political party leaders to make inroads in the region in an effort to win votes.

In 2013 elections, the Kuria region voted overwhelmingly for Jubilee coalition with URP, KANU getting majority of the parliamentary seats.

Uhuru Kenyatta got most votes compared to CORD’s Raila Odinga.
