Tobiko Orders Sacking Of Drunk Prosecutor

The DPP has directed that the Kitui based Police Prosecutor Joseph  Kiarie be immediately relieved of his prosecutorial duties at the Kitui Law Courts.

Two other prosecutors have been posted to replace him and take over prosecution of cases at the Kangundo Law Courts.

John Kiarie was on Thursday caught before the glare of cameras visibly drunk. 

Tobiko has also directed the inspector general of police to take disciplinary action against Kiarie.

Tobiko noted that Kiarie’s conduct had embarrassed many hardworking police prosecutors in the country while bringing to shame the entire prosecution and justice system.

Tobiko confirmed that his office has commenced a formal process to de-gazette Kiarie as a Public Prosecutor.
