Top County Officials Risk Losing Jobs Over Graft

The report which was presented on Thursday was laced with intense lobbying from the minority party led by Deputy Minority Leader Ngaruiya Chege.

The report states that the county accounting officer Lilian Ndegwa has continuously failed to present crucial accounts records to the office of the Auditor General, evident in the audit reports prepared by the Kenya National Audit Office for year 2011 to 2013. 

Others recommended for sacking are Jimmy Kiamba, the chief finance officer, Stephen Osiro head of treasury accounting, Luke Gatimu head of county revenue and Nancy Kiruri the head of budgeting who is accused of acting contrary to the law.

The report now awaits the Governor Dr. Evans Kidero's action.

The corruption report was adopted at the same time as President Uhuru Kenyatta made an executive directive to all those named in the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission report to step aside to allow for investigations.
