Top Immigration Official Collapses After Arrest

Waikenda was rushed to Nairobi Hospital after being picked by Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission officers for grilling over alleged irregular issuance of work permits.

The officer is said to have collapsed as she was being taken to the EACC headquarters in Nairobi.

The EACC detectives will now have to wait for her to recuperate before they can start grilling her over the alleged offences.

The anti graft body says it will send an official statement on the matter in due course.

Since she took over the office last year, there have been major changes in the operations in the department.

Before her appointment as the Director, she was an Administrative Secretary at Kenya Police.
