Top KANU boss house goes up in flames
Property of unknown value was reduced to rubble Thursday night after a fire razed down a house belonging to former Bomet Member of Parliament and KANU Secretary General, Nick Salat, in Chagik area in the outskirts of Kericho Town.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established, but sections suspect it could be due to an electric fault.
An eye-witness said the fire, suspected to have started in one of the rooms in the house, spread rapidly to other areas, razing down the entire structure.
The house was unoccupied at the time of the incident. Neighbours unsuccessfully attempted to put out the fire.
Fire fighters from Kericho County Government arrived at the scene quite late after the entire building had been destroyed.
No property was salvaged from the house.
Police officers are yet to comment on the incident.
