Top Security Officials Meet In Wajir

Deputy inspector general of police Grace Kaindi and her administration police counterpart Samuel Arachi are currently in the area.

This meeting comes just a day after the deadly clashes between the Degodia and Garre clans that left atleast 20 dead and scores others injured.

This was after armed raiders attacked a settlement along the Wajir-Mandera border.

Reports further indicate that more than five houses were set ablaze by the attackers.

Hundreds of villagers in the Tarbaj sub county were displaced following the attack.

It is reported that the clashes started in Gunanan area after differences between the clans over a boundary dispute between Wajir and Mandera counties. 

The attack comes just a few days after the signing of a peace deal in Nairobi.
