Tout who pushed 3-year-old boy from moving matatu arrested

National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) officers on Thursday 28th impounded a matatu whose tout pushed a three-year-old boy from the moving vehicle at Othoro market in Homa Bay County.

NTSA Nyanza Manager Ezekiel Koech said the driver, Steve Owiti, and his turn boy, Tonny, were nabbed at the Kisumu bus park after a tip off from the public.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Koech said the driving license for the driver will be cancelled if he is found guilty, adding that the PSV license for the turn boy too will also be withdrawn.

Koech added the duo will be arraigned in Oyugis court today, Friday.

The vehicle belonging to Kamatco Sacco has been impounded and transported to the Central Police Station in Kisumu.

NTSA will conduct an inspection on the vehicle to also ascertain its compliance.

He warned that NTSA will not condone such acts from matatu operators and urged members of the public to keep reporting such cases.

The incident happened at Othoro market in Kasipul on Christmas day and the boy suffered bruises on his face.
