Traffic alert: Section of Thika Road to be closed for 3 days
Traffic flow is set to be interrupted on the Thika Superhighway at the Mangu Road junction (Njomoko) from Thursday, December 19 to Saturday, December 21.
According to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), the road will be closed to allow for erection of a footbridge.
The exercise is however expected to have minimal interference to motorists, as the exercise will take place at night from 11pm to 4am on the stated days.
KeNHA has urged motorists to be careful and comply with the directions that will be issued by traffic marshals.
“We request motorists to cooperate and comply with the proposed traffic management plan and as directed by the traffic marshals. We highly regret any inconvenience caused,” reads the notice.
According to KeNHA, motorists from Nairobi will divert to the service lane at exit 16A at Vincetian Retreat center while those coming from Murang’a to Nairobi will use alternative routes through Thika and diversions.
