Traffic boss in court for receiving a bribe

A senior traffic police officer, Chief Inspector James Kiili, was on Wednesday arraigned before a Nakuru Court and charged with taking a bribe.

The officer was charged with taking a Ksh 5,000 bribe from a motorist and businessman William Kipyegon.

The offense is said to have been committed on July 27th and 29th, 2016.

The Kerich Traffic base commander has since denied the charges and was released on a Ksh 100,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 50,000.

The case will be heard on September 22nd, 2016.
