Traffic cop seen directing traffic in flooded road lauded
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has commended a police officer caught on camera directing traffic on a flooded section of the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
In the picture, Police Constable Abdi Galgalo of Sultan Hamud Police Station is seen standing knee-deep in water while commanding the traffic.
Through a tweet posted on the National Police Service’s official Twitter handle, IG Boinnet says Constable Hamud’s actions “exemplifies the selfless service rendered by many officers to Kenyans each day.”
The tweet attracted a myriad of responses from Kenyan Twitter users one of whom, identified as Captain Collins Wanderi, expressed interest in awarding the officer.
“I feel obliged to reward Constable Abdi Galgalo in my own way having used that section of the road sometimes last year. Would appreciate if you shared his contacts via inbox. Thank you,” Wanderi wrote as a response to the tweet by the National Police Service.
