Four traffic police officers who were arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives for allegedly extorting money from motorists along the Nairobi-Murang’a highway will on Friday, February 10 take plea at the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court.
The officers from Makuyu Police Station, among them a police inspector, were nabbed by EACC detectives at Kakuzi area, as they allegedly collected bribes from public service vehicles and other motorists plying the highway.
The anti-graft detectives pounced on the traffic officers and recovered a paper bag full of notes in different denominations.
The suspects were taken to Integrity House here in Nairobi where they recorded statements.
