Transformer oil thief says bewitched

A 22-year-old man in Kwale Town escaped death narrowly after he was electrocuted while attempting to steal oil from a transformer Friday morning.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Morris Mtembei, dismissed the allegations saying that he had no idea how he climbed the transformer and attributed the incident to witchcraft.

“Lately, I have been involved in weird acts which are out of my knowledge and I am sure that there is someone using a remote to direct me to the acts. All this is witchcraft,” lamented  Morris Mtembei.

One of the traders in Kwale Town said that Mtembei had visited her shop earlier on to find the prices of t-shirts but ended up stealing her purse.

“The man said he would come back to get the t-shirt after I told him the prices of the t-shirts in my boutique but I’am shocked he is the same man found stealing oil from the electric transformer,” complained the trader.

The lady has called upon the authorities to take immediate action on him.

The Kenya Power company officials who rescued him said that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the matter.
