Transport Paralysed In Muranga Town

Tension was high in the Melee area as matatu drivers and conductors resisted the move claiming hat they were not consulted on the move.

The irate operators accused the owner of the Sacco of bribing his way to get a spot in the already congested stage.

Exchange of words ensued between youths allied to the new competitor, Murang’a Supreme shuttle and opposing operators paralysing transport at the termini.

The operators then used matatus to block the entry and exit of the major matatu termini.

Stranded commuters were forced to cut short their journeys after the striking operators threatened drivers who dared to operate.

The operators are now vowing not to resume operations until their issue is resolved.

Area D.O Edward Lelgo however intervened and managed to convince the operaters to resume operations as they held meetings with all Sacco leaders to resolve their issues.
