Travellers stranded in Migori as bus companies fully booked

Travellers from Migori to Nairobi are stranded, as the few bus companies in the town have been fully booked until January 6.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, some of the stranded passengers expressed fear that the situation would affect students who will be going back to school in Nairobi and other places.

According to Ms Awuor Mwango, there is need for the travel agencies to plan for the festive season accordingly to avoid such shortage in the future.

Mwango urged the companies to give first priority to students going back to school to ensure they resume their learning as scheduled.

Meanwhile, private vehicle owners are making a killing from the stranded passengers who are said to be desperately searching for any available opportunity to reach their destination.

The privately owned vehicles are reportedly charging double the usual price of a ticket to Nairobi.
