Treasury releases over Ksh24b to counties

The National Treasury has released Ksh.24.9 billion to the counties in the current financial year.

In the 2012/17 Budget counties were allocated Ksh.284.7 billion to be released gradually.

Nairobi County has so far received the lion’s share of the devolved funds at Ksh.2.3 billion followed by Machakos County at Ksh.1.3 billion.

According to the Treasury, money to be disbursed will include funds for level five hospitals in all counties as well as county support for health facilities.
