Tuju named Jubilee Party Secretary General

Raphael Tuju has been named the new Secretary General of Jubilee Party.

The National Executive Council of the party has appointed Tuju to the position after serving as Head of Jubilee Party Secretariat for close to three months.

Tuju takes over from Veronica Maina who was the acting Secretary General of Jubilee Party.

Speaking in Nairobi, President Uhuru Kenyatta assured Tuju of his support noting that his appointment is a true commitment of Jubilee to Unite Kenyans, adding that he would ensure the party leadership is inclusive and reflects the face of Kenya

The Jubilee Party was formed last year after President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto dissolved TNA and URP and formed Jubilee Party which they will use to seek for re-election in the August polls.

Tuju also served as Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Minister from end of 2005 to end of 2007, before then he was a member of parliament (MP) for Rarieda Constituency from 2002 to 2007.
