Twitter Wars: ODPP, Lawyer Nelson Havi fight over court directive

Lawyer Nelson Havi was on the receiving end of Justice Hellen Omondi at the Milimani law courts for allegedly attacking the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) without any evidence.

Through their Twitter page, the ODPP tweeted that lawyer had been reprimanded for accusing the public prosecutor of paying bloggers to spread false information.

“Justice Hellen Omondi said that it was important for Counsel to conduct themselves with decorum and respect for the legal profession while expressing themselves on social media,” read one of the tweets by the Public prosecutor.

Never one to back out of a fight, Havi replied rubbishing their claims asking them to stop “propaganda.”

“Your request to the Court was intended to coerce me to withdraw my tweets. The Court rejected your request. Stop spreading propaganda, the world is alive to it,” he tweeted.

Not to be outdone, the ODPP were ready with an answer.

“Do you deny that you were reprimanded by the Honorable Court (today) in respect of your offensive and inaccurate tweet dated 26th March 2019 referring to the DPP? Kindly restrict your answer to YES or NO,” they tweeted.
