Two accidents, same witness. Who is this mystery man?

Two accidents, same witness. Who is this mystery man?

Kenyans have gone full detective as they try and unmask a man who seems to be an “eyewitness to death”.

Dennis Muigai Ngengi hit the airwaves hours after the grisly accident that claimed the life of Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru disputing police version of what happened.

Immediately his version aired, another video of him giving his eyewitness account of another gruesome event.

He was at Lake Nakuru almost immediately after the chopper carrying Jubilee party affiliates went down in the area three weeks ago.

He was wearing his trademark bluetooth sunglasses on both scenes and his accounts were very dramatic.

So, who is this man?

ImpostorAt Lake Nakuru, he introduced himself as a “State Pilot” and said that he was friends with the pilot of the chopper Apollo Malowa. Our sources at State House have denied knowing the man.

“I am a pilot of the state, the deceased was a friend of ours, whom we loved, and that’s why I’m here,” he told NTV.

“I’m shocked that he has left us because we were just with him the other day, before he made this trip that led to his death yesterday morning. Our officers have already arrived here from Nairobi, and we can only hope that whatever has happened here today happened due to God’s will.”

As fate – or just mere coincidence – would have it, Ngengi was again at another accident scene on Tuesday morning, when the vehicle carrying deceased Nyeri Governor, Wahome Gakuru, veered off the road and into a rail.

So coincidental was it that Dennis Ngengi was actually in the car right behind the Governor’s vehicle when the crash happened. Speaking to a Citizen TV reporter, Mr. Ngengi said he was headed to Nairobi from Nyeri when he saw exactly what transpired.

“The driver of the Governor’s car was confused by a motorbike rider who was carrying meat. The motorbike rider joined the road blindly… So while avoiding to hit the rider, the governor’s driver swerved off the road, and that’s when they rammed into the rail. My car then moved to the other side of the road and it wasn’t until we were a little further ahead that we noticed the tyres fly off the car… I was being driven by a female officer.”

Whether his is a coincidence or a mere case of bad luck is yet to be established.
