Two arrested, bhang worth Ksh 3M confiscated by police

Police have arrested two people found in possession of drugs estimated to be worth Ksh 3 million at Old Stadium Village in Embu town.

Embu County Police Commander Karisa Robathe said that the two suspects were nabbed Thursday morning following a tip off from members of the public.

“At around 5AM, we were informed that there was a house near Embu’s old stadium where people were seen offloading some bags containing drugs. We raided the house and recovered six and a half bags of bhang with a total of 2,008 stones of the substance,” said Robathe.

The police boss said that they also recovered 30 litres of ethanol during the raid.

“We managed to recover 30 liters of ethanol which we suspect was to be used in preparation of second generation alcohol.”

He said they will not relent in the war against drug and substance abuse and those found in contravention of the law will be dealt with mercilessly.

Mr. Robathe said the two suspects will be arraigned in court soon and charged with drug trafficking.
