Two arrested over KDF recruitment scandal in Yatta
Two suspects have been arrested in Yatta, Machakos County for allegedly running an illegal KDF recruitment operation earlier this year.
The duo identified as Thomas Kioko and Patrick Mwende both 33-years-ol, were seized by CID officers led by DCIO boss George Muriuki.
They are accused of issuing fake calling letters to four youth and misleading them to report to the Eldoret KDF Training School on March 25.
The four were given the letters at a cost of Ksh.250,000 each, meaning that Kioko and Mwende received a total of Ksh.1million.
“They have been trailed by CID officers since March and were arrested last night (Monday) in Yatta,” said area OCPD Eric Ng’etich.
The two suspects will be arraigned in court on Tuesday to answer to the charges.
