Two brothers were on Tuesday evening arrested for allegedly gang raping a Form Two student in their rental house at Pala Trading Center in Homa Bay County.

20-year-old Tyson Onyango and Kevin Ouma, 25, are alleged to have forcefully taken the girl to their house while she was on her way back to school from home where she had gone to collect school fees.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, area chief Bernard Omuga said Tyson — who is a bodaboda rider in the area — lied to the girl that he would take her to school only to end up with her at their house where they detained and continuously defiled her for about a week.

Mr. Omuga added that, acting on a tip-off from members of the public, he – alongside other police officers – stormed the house where they found Tyson with the student.

Upon interrogation, the administrator added, the girl revealed that Tyson, his brother Kevin as well as another unidentified man had gang raped her.

The officers then traced down and arrested Kevin, further launching a manhunt for the remaining unidentified suspect.

The two brothers are currently detained at Homa Bay Police Station awaiting arraignment.
