Two children abducted in Nairobi rescued at the Busia border, house help arrested

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives have rescued two minors abducted by their house help from their Nairobi home on Saturday.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the DCI said the suspect; 32-year-old Scovia Namataka was arrested at the Busia border in the company of the two children aged between 4 and 8 years.

According to the DCI, detectives based in Buruburu, Nairobi worked with their counterparts at the Busia border to intercept the suspect who was in a bus headed to Uganda.

The suspect reportedly abducted the children after their parents left Nairobi to attend a burial in Meru.

The suspect is in police custody awaiting their day in court.
